Tonisha Cohen-King is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience working with individuals and families in need of support to help them face and conquer difficult life challenges. She has experience working with survivors of Domestic violence and sexual Assault, individuals diagnosed with Substance use disorders and individuals diagnosed with severe, persistent mental illness. Tonisha received her Master of Social Work Degree from Fordham University, Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Southern Connecticut State University, and a Certificate in Behavioral Health from Housatonic Community College. Tonisha believes in person-centered care and working collaboratively with the individuals she serve to ensure their voices are heard and their needs are met. Tonisha has a passion for teaching, coaching and helping to bring awareness about the treatment options available to people in underserved communities who are negatively impacted by daily life stressors. She believes in advocating on their behalf while also helping them to find their own voices and inner strength. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness practices and Narrative therapy are some of the therapeutic techniques she uses to support her clients on their path to healing.
