I am Diamond Smith, a recent graduate from the University of Connecticut obtaining my Master's Degree in Social Work. I have experience working in the field of social work over the last six years. My experience includes mental health, working with children (ages from 5-18), families, motherhood, PTSD, trauma, substance use, transitions and adjustments etc.

I am passionate about working with youth, adults, and families who are navigating the challenges of life or life concerns. Whether they are personal, with family, or with peers. Areas of interest include anxiety, depression, trauma, sleep problems, transitions and adjustments, identity development, parenting skills, and family communication. I work with clients through a person-centered, family-systems approach, while honoring and affirming the diverse cultural and belief systems of my client.

I describe myself as having a down-to-earth nature, sense of humor, and personable demeanor. I have a strong approach, utilizing various theoretical approaches, behavioral science, and real-life experiences. I cater my approach to each client's individual therapeutic needs. Additionally, I am trained in evidence- based models to process trauma, Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
